embassy suites by hilton detroit troy auburn hills3.5 out of 5 price was $590, price is now $438 per person $438 per person feb 14 - feb 17 found 10 hours ago roundtrip non-stop flight included las vegas (las) to detroit (dtw) stay at this 3.5-star business-friendly hotel in troy. enjoy free breakfast, free wifi, and a free area shuttle. our guests praise the breakfast and the helpful staff in our reviews. popular attractions polar bears memorial and troy historic village are located nearby. everyone on the staff was really courteous; very positive and professional. breakfast provided was terrific with lots of well-prepared, quality choices; except for the coffee, which was literally dispensed like a soda machine, not brewed or anything. room was large and comfortable, with many amenities- microwave/fridge/sink area and a separate "living room" area with a big tv. i couldn't have asked for anything else! the room had a pleasant scent, too. however, it really didn't appear to be cleaned well. lots of dusty surfaces, the floor of the white shower area definitely needed to be cleaned (with bleach) as well as the areas around the sink fixtures in the bathroom. the glass/mirrored surfaces looked 'wiped' but not clean. it made me question the cleanliness of everything. bed was comfortable but had a 'top' sheet being used as a fitted sheet- not very professional. it was by no means an unpleasant stay, but i didn't expect those negative things from a hilton/ embassy suites property. the hotel is in a remote, corporate area, so note that there is absolutely nothing near by but other corporate buildings. please consider having a designated smokers' area in a place other than the front entrance of the building; it was not very nice leaving and arriving each day/evening, having to walk through a crowd of people smoking and the entrance area smelled of cigarettes/smoke as soon as you stepped outside, even if no one was out there smoking. reviewed on jul 15, 2024
